Ibrahim Dahak

Tunisia, b.1931

Painter and wood engraver, Ibrahim Dahak trained at Accademia di Belle Arte in Rome (1957-1961) and was resident of Cité International des Arts in Paris (1971-1972). His imaginary compositions of popular scenes, with surrealistic undertones and rough forms in muffled colours, insinuate a heartbreaking loneliness.
