Tawfiq Sayed
Jordan, b.1939 - 1996
Tawfik al-Said attended San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid (1971-1975). He worked as teacher and art supervisor with the Department of Culture and Arts in Amman and subsequently gave lessons at the Institute of Fine Arts. Said was a prolific painter, sculptor, printmaker and caricature artist who moved with ease between cubism and abstraction by means of diverse media. All his work exhibit bold expressiveness and strong drawings.
