Houria Niati

Algeria, b.1949

Painter, singer and poet, Houria Niati’s training at the National School of Tixeraine in Algeria included visual arts and music. She then   trained at the Camden Art Center and Croydon College of Art in England. Her highly expressive paintings denote a deceiving dreamlike quality that embodies man’s lost original innocence and gained sophisticated cruelty.
