Mohamad Aksouh

Algeria, b.1934

Mohamad Aksouh is a self-taught artist who worked with many well-established artists in Paris, including André Lhotte and Nalard. In his paintings and etchings, he turns a flat piece of paper into a field of poetic contours and silhouettes, delicately lit up by pastel colours that brilliantly succeed in creating an exquisite freshness and varied subtle nuances.
