Abdel Jabar Numan
Yemen, b.1946-2019
Born in the Dhubhan area near Taiz city, where he began his primary education. He later moved to Aden to continue his studies. His professional life began as a teacher at the “College of Balqis,” which was established in the early 1960s. He traveled to Cairo where he joined the “Italian Art Institute” and graduated with honors in 1973.Throughout his prolific artistic career, he received numerous awards and certificates of appreciation. He was awarded the First-Class Science and Arts Medal, the Marib Medal of the Third Class, and continued to garner accolades such as the Golden Painting Award and a commendation from UNICEF. He also received the First-Class Medal of Arts and Literature.
