Akeel Abbas
Iraq, b.1948
He obtained a diploma in Fine Arts from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1967. He worked as an art education teacher while simultaneously becoming a member of the Iraqi Artists Association in Baghdad in 1968. He moved to Paris in 1974 to join the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts . He earned his higher diploma in painting from the École des Beaux-Arts in 1980, followed by a higher diploma in lithography from the same school in 1982.
