Ali Omar Ermes

Ali Omar Ermes graduated from Plymouth School of Architecture and Design in 1970.  In 1974 he was appointed visual arts consultant to the director of the World of Islam Festival that took place in 1976, during which he took part in arranging exhibitions on Islamic culture and classical art.  All of Ermes’s compositions revolve around Arabic calligraphy, making use of its plastic qualities and content.
