Etel Adnan

Etel Adnan is a poet, philosopher, literary critic, designer, ceramist and painter. She studied philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris, the University of California, and Harvard University, and taught philosophy of art through courses and lectures at over 40 universities and colleges throughout the United States. She has published six poetry and literature books. After establishing herself in the literary field, she discovered her inclination towards visual expression and took up visual art. She experiments with different media but the poet in her is always present in her calligraphic paintings.
