Jafar Kaki
Iraq, b.1951
A graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad (1976), Jafar Kaki continued his training and studies at San Fernando Academy in Madrid where he took his M.A. (1984) and Ph.D. (1989). He taught chalcographic engraving at the Escuela de Verano International de Gravado in Calella and the International University Menendez (1991-1992). A master engraver, Kaki’s large abstract works show his ancient artistic roots that he interprets in a modern expressionistic style with precise emphasis on detail.
