Maisoon Saqr

Maisoon al-Qasimi is a poet and a painter who received her MA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Cairo in 1981.  A self taught artist, she trained with other fellow artists in their studios.  She uses calligraphy in her work as an abstract secondary background element whose function is to accentuate the main forms in the composition.
