Mehdi Moutasher
Iraq, b.1943
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad (1966), Mehdi Moutasher taught painting in Saudi Arabia before going to Paris where he entered École Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts, graduating in 1970. Since 1974 he has been teaching printing at École Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Painter and installation artist, Moutasher has reached in his work the furthest boundaries in abstraction, however with a very strong sense of his Oriental self.
