Nuha Radi
Iraq, b.1941 - 2004
Nuha Radi trained in London at Byam Shaw School of Art and Chelsea Pottery (1961-63). She taught ceramics at the American University in Beirut (1971-75). After the 1991 Gulf War and the subsequent U.N. sanctions on Iraq her work took up a new form. She began doing sculptures and installations with found metal objects to make a statement not only about shortage of art materials but all necessities for a decent human life.
