Rafiq Sharaf
Lebanon, b.1932-2003
Born in the city of Baalbek. He studied arts at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts, where he was apprenticed to the Lebanese impressionist artist, Qaisar al-Jamil. In 1955, he traveled to Spain on a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of San Fernando, and later continued his studies in Italy. Upon his return to Lebanon, he was appointed as a professor of art at the Institute of Fine Arts in Beirut.
