Taysir Barakat

Palestine, b. 1959

Tayseer Barakat graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Alexandria (1983) and was a teacher at U.N.R.W.A. schools in Gaza between 1986 and 1992 and is a founder of the Wasiti Arts Center in Jerusalem (1989).His muted colours reflect the artist’s serenity while his compositions made up of asymmetrical sectors, reminds one of ancient friezes, with multiplied images and man at center of the formation.
