We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming “Hiwar Art Club” meetup, where we will present two short documentary films on the creative practices of contemporary artists Anish Kapoor and Wangechi Mutu, followed by an open discussion.
The Indian-British artist Anish Kapoor is renowned for creating large-scale sculptures in public spaces and museums, using materials such as stainless steel, stone, wax, PVC, and colorful pigments. He transforms these materials into mysterious objects that provoke fundamental questions about perception, consciousness, and spirituality.
The Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu creates sculptures, watercolor paintings, collages, and other works with various materials, depicting fantastical worlds. Her work explores themes of African identity, colonialism, and feminism while highlighting the connection between the divine feminine, humanity, and nature.
Join us at “Wijdan Artspace,” located in the Park of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.
The screening will be in English, and the discussion will be in both Arabic and English.
