Abd Al-Wahab Morsi

Egypt, b.1931-2021

Born in Ash Sharqiyah, Abdul Wahab Morsi began his artistic journey in 1956 and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1957. Over the years, he ascended through various roles to eventually oversee Fine Arts and Museums at the Supreme Council for Arts and Literature. Abdul Wahab Morsi held numerous solo exhibitions since 1961 in Cairo, Geneva, Spain, Belgium, Austria, France, Germany, and Yugoslavia. He also participated in many public and group exhibitions and contributed to the Egyptian artistic movement since 1958.He received several local and international awards, including: third prize in the Egyptian Pavilion at the Alexandria Biennale in 1970, and second prize at the Third International Biennale in Barcelona in 1971 in Portugal.
