Abdel Raouf Shamoun got his B.A. in literature from the Jordan University in 1968 and followed art courses at the Institute of Fine Arts in Amman. A painter who delves into much research before embarking on a new work, his style vacillates between surrealism and expressionism and is laden with symbols that transmit a social message.
