George Aleef
Jordan, b.1887 - 1970
Born in Russia, Aleef was an officer in the Imperial Russian Army, after the Bolshevik revolution, he emigrated with the White Russians to Istanbul then to Palestine and in 1948 settled in Jordan. He earned his living by giving private lessons in art and in Russian language; trained many Jordanian artists including Muhanna Durra and Rafik Lahham.
