Triki belongs to the second generation of Tunisian artists and its first generation of engravers. He spent time in the studios of Lagrange and Couteau where he trained in woodcutting and wood engraving. In his crowded childlike compositions, floating human, animal and vegetal forms recount a humanistic tale of primitive spiritual beliefs, yet with strong contemporary references.
