Mahmoud Sadiq

Mahmoud Sadeq trained at the College of Fine Arts at Baghdad University, graduating in 1970. After taking his M.A in painting from the University of South Carolina and Ph.D. in art education from Florida State University (1983) in the United States, he was appointed at the newly established Fine Arts Department of Yarmouk University, thus training tens of young students. Sadek derives inspiration for his expressionist paintings from the folk culture around him, employing popular symbolism in a story-like manner.
