Mohammad Taha Hussein
Egypt, b.1929
A painter, engraver, ceramist, art critic and art historian, Muhammad Taha Hussein graduated from the Higher School of Design in Reveler (1959) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Dusseldorf in Germany, then got his Ph.D. in history of art and archaeology from Cologne University. An adherent of the calligraphic school of art, he employs Arabic letters for their graphic qualities while neglecting their content and reins in his colours only to the use of black and white with their various shades.
