Mustafa Abdel Moati
Egypt, b.1938
A graduate of the College of Fine Arts in Alexandria (1962), Moustafa Abdel Moati continued his art training and studies at San Fernando Academy in Madrid where he trained in mural painting and in 1972 he got his Ph.D. in history of art. He was the Director of the Egyptian Academy in Rome. An abstract painter, Abdel Moati utilizes the triangle, circle, and square to build up his compositions in a lyrical abstraction as if depicting a silent melody in pure colours.
