Naheel Bishara

She was one of the first Palestinian women to study art formally. After graduating from high school, she became the first Palestinian to join the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem (1942-1944). In 1956, she continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, Italy, where she obtained a diploma in art, and completed her studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1962, specializing in architecture and ceramics.
