Rabi’e Akhras

Syria, b. 1951

Rabii Akhras graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Damascus (1978). He is known for his colossal public monuments that denote a Herculean vigour. His small works lean towards surrealism without its deformity but with allegorical reference to the irrational.
