Khairat Saleh
Syria, b.1940
Born in Jerusalem and received her education in Syria and Egypt. Al-Saleh studied English literature and poetry at the University of Wales, Swansea. in her work, she uses calligraphy and miniatures, drawing inspiration from Arab and Islamic art. Her work includes experiments with decorated manuscripts, Arabic and geometric design in her paintings, prints, and ceramics. Her works have been exhibited in London and in various European and Arab countries.
