Sa’ad Yagan

Syria, b. 1950

After graduating at the Institute of Fine Arts in Aleppo (1964), Saad Yagan worked with disabled children. Persons depicted in simple lines and robust brush strokes, as if taken from a Greek play to epitomize a humanitarian epic, inhabit his paintings.
